Founder / Principal Consultant

The Governance Guide’s insight and advice is founded on Principal Consultant Rachel Colombi’s first-hand experience in higher education and not-for-profit governance. Rachel has held senior governance, policy and compliance roles in universities across Australia including RMIT University, University of Melbourne, the Australian National University and Griffith University, as well as Chief of Staff in a large NFP delivering mental health recovery services nationally.

Rachel holds an MBA and a Master of Laws, as well as undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Law. In 2019 Rachel completed the Foundations of University Governance program co-created by the University Chancellors Council and the Australian Institute of Company Directors and in 2023 completed the AICD Company Director’s Course. Rachel is also a qualified trainer and assessor, having completed the Certificate IV Training and Assessment in 2016.

Board Roles: Rachel is a parent elected representative on the Seven Hills State School Council.

Memberships: Rachel is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a Graduate of the AICD.
