Rachel Colombi GAICD, FGIA, MBA, LLM, LLB, BCOMM
Founder and Director
The Governance Guide’s insight and advice is founded on Principal Consultant Rachel Colombi’s first-hand experience in higher education, not-for-profit and public sector governance. Rachel has held senior governance, policy and compliance roles in universities across Australia, as well as Chief of Staff in a large NFP delivering mental health recovery services nationally. Through The Governance Guide, Rachel works with clients across the not-for-profit, higher education, and public sectors on both an ongoing advisory basis and for discrete projects.
Rachel holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Laws (specialising in Government and Commercial Law), alongside undergraduate degrees in Commerce and Law. In 2019 Rachel completed the Foundations of University Governance program co-created by the University Chancellors Council and the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and in 2023 completed the AICD Company Director’s Course.
Board Roles: Rachel is a Non-Executive Director and Governance Committee member of Richmond Fellowship Queensland.
Memberships: Rachel is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a Graduate of the AICD.
